Natural Tooth Colored Bonding

woman smiling, eyes out of frameWe at Weekend Dentistry are proud to offer Bonding as a conservative solution for our patients with select imperfections in their smiles. Bonding refers to the application of a composite resin, in the desired shade, directly onto your tooth. This means you get to keep your natural tooth structure while repairing minor imperfections such as chips, fractures, decay, or discoloration. Bonding can be a wonderfully simple, cost-effective, and quick procedure to help restore your smile.

What Is Bonding?

Bonding is one of the simplest and most cost-effective cosmetic dental procedures available for patients with imperfections such as:
•  Chips
•  Gaps
•  Minor Fractures
•  Minor Decay
•  Discoloration

In some cases, bonding can be used as a cosmetic alternative to amalgam fillings, or to protect a bit of exposed tooth root that may have been exposed due to receding gums.

How Does Bonding Work?

During your appointment, our doctors will select a composite resin to match the color of the afflicted tooth and the rest of your smile. Then, the natural tooth will be slightly abraded or etched, so the surface of the tooth will be rough. The tooth will then be light.

If we agree bonding is the right solution for your smile, a composite resin (plastic) will be molded and polished to match your surrounding teeth. This resin will then be applied, or bonded, to the afflicted tooth. It’s as simple as that! Depending on the state of and number of teeth selected for bonding, the entire procedure could take as little as one visit.
