What Is a Crown?

Do you live with damaged, decayed, or missing teeth? If soon, you may benefit from a dental crown. A crown is a durable, natural-looking shell that fits over the remaining tooth structure. We use crowns to restore fractured teeth, cap worn-down teeth or enhance the color of stained or discolored teeth. Crowns can also cap a dental implant to completely replace one or more missing teeth.

At Weekend Dentistry, we make our crowns from beautiful, long-lasting porcelain to replicate the look and strength of your natural teeth.

How Long Do Crowns Last?

Crowns are durable dental restorations that will keep your smile healthy for years to come. With good at-home care, proper oral hygiene, and regular checkups, your crown can 15 years or more.

How Much Do Crowns and Bridges Cost?

The cost of your restorative procedure will depend on your oral health and treatment needs. At our practice, we provide quality crowns and bridges at fair, competitive prices. We also accept all PPO insurance plans, as well as VA and military insurance plans. To learn more, ask a member of our friendly front office staff.

What Is a Bridge?

The loss of one or more teeth will not only affect the look of your smile, but it will impact the health of your bite. If you are living with an incomplete smile, you may benefit from a dental bridge. A bridge consists of one or more crowns, which are called pontics. The pontics are anchored to your surrounding teeth with crowns, called abutments, on either side of the gap.

A dental bridge can prevent your surrounding teeth from moving out of alignment, redistribute healthy bite forces, and improve or maintain the health of your bite and jaw. You may be a good candidate for a dental bridge if you have one or more missing teeth. Patients who do not have the jaw tissue necessary for a dental implant can also benefit from this restorative procedure.

How Long Do Dental Bridges Last?

With good at-home care and oral hygiene, your dental bridge can last up to 15 years. Be sure to schedule regular dental checkups so our team can assess the condition of your bridge, crown, or other dental restorations.
