Do you need root canal treatment? If so, call Weekend Dentistry today. Our team provides root canals to restore damaged or infected teeth.
What Is a Root Canal?
A root canal is a restorative procedure that we recommend to save a damaged, inflamed, or infected tooth. Inside your tooth is a sensitive material called dental pulp. The dental pulp material contains your tooth’s blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissues. When your tooth becomes damaged, inflamed, or infected, the pulp breaks down and dies. This can result in toothaches, discomfort, swelling, discoloration, drainage, pain when chewing, or sensitivity to heat or cold.
If left untreated, this condition can become so severe that your tooth must be removed to prevent further dental health concerns. Our skilled team performs root canals to save teeth and restore your oral health. At Weekend Dentistry, extractions are always a last resort. We will recommend root canals to avoid extractions and help you maintain a complete, healthy smile.
During root canal procedures, our dentist removes the dental pulp from inside the tooth. Then the interior of the tooth will be thoroughly cleaned. Finally, the tooth is sealed to prevent future infection. To complete the procedure, our dentist will cement a crown over the tooth to fully restore its look, function, and strength.

Is a Root Canal Painful?
Root canals have a painful reputation, but in reality, root canal treatment is no more uncomfortable than a filling. The pain most patients associate with root canals is caused by the inflammation or infection inside the tooth. When you come to Weekend Dentistry, we will do everything we can to ensure your experience with us is comfortable and pain-free. We offer sedation dentistry to reduce any discomfort you may feel and put you at ease. Be sure to ask our dentist if sedation dentistry is right for you.
