Whether you need a simple tooth extraction or a wisdom tooth removal, Weekend Dentistry provides the services you need to find relief.
What Can I Expect During My Tooth Extraction?
Our expert team will conduct a thorough exam, review your dental and medical history, and take the appropriate X-rays to effectively plan your extraction. Once we determine the best course of action, our dentist will administer local anesthesia, as well as sedation as needed to help you relax. Next, our dentist will loosen and extract the tooth. If the tooth has not fully erupted through the gum line, a more invasive extraction may be performed to remove it. Regardless of the type of extraction you require, we will make sure you are comfortable and relaxed throughout.
After the extraction, some discomfort and swelling are to be expected, but this should pass within two to three days. Our dentist will prescribe pain relievers and antibiotics as needed. We will also provide you with detailed post-operative care instructions to make your recovery as swift and comfortable as possible.
At Weekend Dentistry, we are trained to perform safe, effective, and comfortable wisdom tooth extractions. Call your trusted dentists for all your dental care needs, including wisdom teeth extractions.
Do I Need a Wisdom Tooth Extraction?
We recommend removing wisdom teeth, even if you are not experiencing any pain. Because they come in after the rest of the patient’s permanent teeth have erupted, there may not be enough room to accommodate wisdom teeth. If not extracted, wisdom teeth can become impacted cause other oral health problems, such as:
- Crowding
- Tooth decay
- Gum infections
- Cysts
